Anheuser-Busch Says No to InBev

Anheuser-Busch, brewer of Low-Quality American Lagers such as Budweiser and Bud Light, has submitted a formal Rejection of the Takeover Bid proposed by Belgium’s InBev. The Offer of $46 billion US Dollars was made about Two Weeks Ago, but the Anheuser-Busch Board voted against it despite the fact that the offer Overvalued the Anheuser-Busch Stock Price by a significant Margin.

Belgian Cat and Monastic Brewer Jeepers de Vooght applauded the Rejection and encouraged InBev to “streven naar meer traditionele methoden voor het brouwen van het behalen van succes, in plaats van het kopen van lage kwaliteit brouwerijen.”

  1. Wow are you misinformed and ignorant. Light beer flavor (Budweiser) does not equate to low quality. Let me prove it you your simple mind in this way: motor oil has more flavor then water. Therefore, (you would say) it is of higher quality. In fact, it is much harder to make a light beer that has a delicate balance over one that is out of balance with too much hopping or too much malt. Look at the numbers… it is much more expensive to make Budweiser then any of the InBev brands… this is a fact! And not because of higher US wages.

Are you one of those dumbasses that thinks because InBev is Belgium, then they must be better? Remember, they are run by Brazilains and there culture does not shout out quality. Stella, Leffe and Hoegaarden were all once good beers. It only took a couple of years for the machete wielding investment bankers know as InBev to totally screw it up. They are bad for the brewing industry the world around. Take a look at their record… cut costs (materials and the people who manage the process) in order to make a profit. Just look at their web site and you will see that they are all MBAs… not brewmasters. Just look at how they grow the company… cut cost to the product. Also note Brito’s talk at Stanford (on Stanford’s web site) where he said that it’s only the top 200 – 250 people at the top that make a difference in their company. Consider that InBev is over 80,000 people, this does not reflect good quality. AB, regardless of wheter or not you like their beer’s flavor, is run by solid, technical brewing people… too bad their board is screwing things up.

It is a said day for the brewing industry if InBev gets their hands on AB regardless of what beer we all prefer to drink.
